turn…turn…turn…

yin yang spin red - September 22, 2014pm

Years ago, while reading Understanding the I Ching by Cyrille Javary, I discovered that our common yin-yang symbol is misleading.

The round circle, with its balance of white and black, is like a snapshot of a continual transformation…

The yin-yang forces are constantly shifting.  A more accurate symbol would show the white moving into the space of the black as the black moves into the space vacated by the white.

imperfect…perfect

raven mandela - September 5, 2014pm

One more mandala…

Those figures are birds fitted together in a dance…

I guess it’s fair to ask why the lighter ones are not completely white…Wouldn’t white be the proper complement for black?

I forget why I used gray.  In any case, it’s all balanced…

Perhaps that’s the point: to be imperfect and yet, still in balance.
